Your questions, answered
Is LiveCyte a medical provider?
No. LiveCyte is an educational website and directory. We help you find and evaluate independent licensed providers — only a licensed clinician who has evaluated you can say whether any treatment is appropriate.
Is cellular therapy FDA-approved?
It depends on the use — many cellular and stem-cell-marketed products for joints, sports injuries, skin or hair are not FDA-approved for those uses. Ask any provider exactly which product they use and its FDA status before you proceed.
What happens at a first visit?
Most first visits include an evaluation of your condition, a discussion of whether you're a candidate for a given approach, and a review of risks, alternatives and cost — ask your specific provider for details, since practices vary.
Will insurance cover cellular therapy?
It depends — many cellular therapy visits for joints, sports injuries or aesthetics are not covered by insurance and are paid out of pocket. Ask the provider and your insurer directly; we don't quote costs or coverage on this site.
How long is recovery?
Recovery varies by the specific treatment, the area treated and your own health. Ask your provider for a realistic timeline for your situation rather than relying on a general estimate.
How do providers receive referrals?
Licensed providers can list for free, or reserve an exclusive referral territory — a ZIP code or an entire state — so that patients in that area who ask for help are connected to them.
